In July, GPP brought together 15 members in Montevideo, Uruguay for our annual meeting and the Global LGBTI Human Rights Conference.
In October, GPP convened an ILGA Europe Donor Pre-Conference in Nicosia, Cyprus in collaboration with Ariadne and ILGA Europe. 25 members and partners attended, representing private and public foundations, individual, government, and corporate grantmakers. The pre-conference focused on discussions of Trans* Funding, Intersex Funding, and Resource Mobilization. In Cyprus, GPP also organized a post-ILGA Europe donor breakfast and debrief session.
In November, GPP organized an ILGA World Donor Pre-Conference in Bangkok, Thailand. 70 members and partners attended this convening, organized in collaboration with UNDP, SIDA, and ILGA. Again, participants represented a wide range of private and public foundations, individual, government, and corporate grantmakers.
The ILGA World Donor Pre-Conference focused on themes including:
- Promotion of Open Space for LGBTI Civil Society;
- Exploration of LGBTI Intermediary Infrastructure;
- Sustainable Development Goals and LGBTI Inclusion.
During ILGA World, GPP also organized a session to share information about grantmaking models and resources. Representatives from Open Society Foundation, Astraea Foundation, Arcus Foundation, the International Trans* Fund, Ford Foundation, and UNDP participated as panelists.
GPP Director Matthew Hart also gave a “Rainbow Talk” to the full conference body (700 attendees) introducing the Global Resources Report and discussing the ways the report’s data can make a difference for LGBTI movements.
