The Future We Build: Fueling LGBTI Movements

July 1st, 2025
9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. EDT (GMT-04:00)

On July 1st, Global Philanthropy Project celebrated the successful close of the Fund Our Futures Campaign, the first-ever global pledging campaign dedicated to supporting LGBTI movements.

Launched in November 2024 amid rising anti-rights backlash and significant shifts in philanthropic and development funding landscapes, the campaign set out to raise $150 million in new pledged funding for global LGBTI movements by June 2025.

With the support of 64 grantmakers from around the world, we proudly surpassed that goal, securing an unprecedented $182 million in new funding commitments.

While LGBTI movements worldwide continue to face an intensifying funding crisis, particularly in the Global South and East, Fund Our Futures represents a powerful step forward. Though it does not close the widening gap, the campaign affirms our community’s unwavering commitment to building a more just, equitable, and safe world. Every pledge stands as a testament to our shared resilience, solidarity, and determination to advance global LGBTI rights.

Thank you to our speakers…
