Global Fund for Women seeks experienced Government Budget Reporting Analyst.  Working with the CFO and the Development Team, the consultant will handle budget reporting on miscellaneous government funded grants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned, and the duties and responsibilities of the job are subject to change without notice.

·       Actively work on assigned grant reporting (budget and analysis), working contact with grant program managers and program management related to contract/grants.

·       Assist program management with budgeting, financial reporting and other administrative requirements of the contracts/grant

·       Track and monitor the status of each contract/grant through its program life cycle; and create and maintain the master contract/grant financial calendar.

·       Analyze and review, or direct all accounting entries (transactions and journals) related to contracts and restricted funds

·       Monitors and tracks budgets, revenues, and expenditures and notifies department or program managers of variances/overages; maintains and updates computer financial systems.

·       Provides functional oversight of general fund and/or grants and contracts accounting section; prepares/approves journal entries; monitors and tracks program expenditures.

·       Responsible for drawdowns of grant/contract funds.

·       Prepare and distribute all applicable fiscal reports related to contracts/grants

·       Manage the preparation, review, and coordination of contract/grant related audit work


·       Considerable knowledge of modern governmental accounting theory, principles, and practices; considerable knowledge of internal control procedures and management information systems; considerable knowledge of office automation and computerized financial applications; considerable knowledge of public finance and fiscal planning; considerable working knowledge budgetary, accounting and reporting systems, GAAFR, GASB, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).


·       Federal, state and local cost principals.

·       Maintaining efficient and effective financial systems and procedures especially for internal control and audits to ensure accurate financial data at all times.


·      Grant management utilizing budget/project/cost accounting for 3-5 yrs in a nonprofit or NGO preferred.

·      Ability to understand complexities of governmental contracts and foundation grants.

·      Strong follow through on open items in each grant

·      Detail orientation around data and tracking systems.

·      Ability to independently manage high-volume workloads, multiple stakeholders demand and shifting priorities.

·      Strong analytical skills.

·      Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and manage stress effectively in a demanding and fast paced environment.

·      Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

·      Flexibility. Demonstrates the ability to be creative and process driven simultaneously.

·      Ability to present finance and accounting data in a clear and understandable manner to both technical and non-technical users.

  • BA degree in Business, Economics or Finance related field minimum three years of experience in non-profit accounting and grant management. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Reporting and grant experience specifically in a NGO setting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of fund accounting and cost funding procedures.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local accounting and budgeting principles and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Demonstrated working experience in Salesforce and/or Sage Intacct is a plus
