GPP and GATE Donor Pre-Conference at the ‘Unite! Advocate! Thrive!’ Global Pre-Conference

July 19, 2024

Munich, Germany

The Global Philanthropy Project (GPP) and the Global Action for Trans Equality (GATE) invite you to a Donor Pre-Conference (DPC) focused on funding trans and gender-diverse (TGD) movements and communities.

The DPC will host key public and private grantmakers, donor governments, corporate funders, high-net wealth individuals, and other partners funding trans movements to develop strategies, share insights, and invent new ways to work together and respond to crises and opportunities for trans movements and communities. This pre-conference will foster a shared understanding of the needs of the field and identify and encourage opportunities for alignment, collaboration, and learning within the donor community financing trans-led movements.

Attendees will gather for a full-day convening on July 19th. In the evening, we will be hosting a donor reception. After the DPC donors are invited to attend the ‘Unite! Advocate! Thrive!’ Global Trans Conference on July 20-21 hosted by GATE.

About the ‘Unite! Advocate! Thrive!’ Global Pre-Conference

On 20 and 21 July 2024, GATE and its partners will organize the ‘Unite! Advocate! Thrive!’ Global Trans Conference, a 2-day conference priori to the International AIDS Conference 2024 that will take place in Munich, Germany. The Conference will be a unique and critical gathering for up to 200 TGD activists and key stakeholders from around the world. It aims to address the notable lack of TGD-specific and -inclusive global strategies, particularly in the global HIV response, and to formulate a unified response to anti-gender and anti-right opposition.

This Conference is organized jointly with APCOM, the Asia Pacific Transgender Network (APTN), the East Africa Trans Health and Advocacy Network (EATHAN), the European Sex Workers Rights Alliance (ESWA), Gender Dynamix, RedLacTrans, Transgender Europe (TGEU), Trans United Europe, Transgender Law Center, Transgender Red Umbrella and United Caribbean Trans Network (UCTrans) – TGD and sex workers networks representing all world regions.
